By distorting shapes and perspectives, Ojakangas takes her work beyond mere representation, using surrealism to explore identity and the complex feelings connected to it.
Elina Ojakangas is a Swedish-Finnish painter and graduate of Gerleborgsskolan School of Fine Art in Stockholm. Her thought-provoking paintings explore themes of identity and melancholy, often drawing from her own memories and emotions. Her works are autobiographical, transforming personal feelings into warped, circular scenes, where the human form is reshaped and distorted through her emotional lens. -
