Contemplative and visually compelling, Castiglia’s paintings explore the relationship between the inside and the outside together with the perception of our own bodies within these realms. Through patterns, shapes and colours, Flora deconstructs and plays with the rearrangement the places and familiar object within them. She transforms and merges interior and exterior worlds, creating an interdimensional space where potted plants and mountains exist within one abstract space organically.

Flora’s style is often characterized by the reoccurring engagement with geometric, yet non-restrictive, playful forms of stripes, circles and diamond-shaped grids that merge with a recurring motif of nature. She instinctively mixes the imperfections of variety of textures and loose paint splatters with much more intentional grid formations, which creates an interesting contrast and a unique dreamy quality.
