Jihye Park
New Available Works -
Following Jihye Park's sold-out debut exhibition, When the Star Falls Asleep, earlier this year, RHODES is delighted to present three new original paintings by the artist.
Park's meticulously detailed paintings invite viewers into immersive landscapes where the familiar and the imagined meet. Drawing on personal memories, dreams and her experience of moving between South Korea and Germany, she creates richly observed scenes that balance expansive natural environments with carefully structured architectural forms. Hidden details woven throughout each composition reward slow looking, encouraging the eye to continually discover something new.
These latest works continue the distinctive visual language established in her debut exhibition. Executed with extraordinary precision, each painting reflects Park's fascination with the relationship between interior and exterior worlds, transforming landscapes into quietly surreal spaces that feel at once intimate and expansive.
Jihye Park (b. 1981, South Korea) studied Fine Art at Hongik University, Seoul, before completing postgraduate study at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig, Germany. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally and are held in private collections across Europe, Asia and the United States. Park lives and works in Leipzig, Germany.
