RHODES Editions: Christmas Gift Guide

A curated list presenting seven of the RHODES Editions 2025 releases

As the festive season approaches, RHODES Editions has curated a selection of limited edition prints. This year, we’re highlighting seven of our 2025 releases, four under £600 and three over, ensuring a range of options for our collectors. The diversity of our print editions guarantees choices that appeal to all collectors, from those with longstanding collections to those buying for someone’s first.

Bespoke framing is available on all purchases, allowing you to order a framed, ready-to-gift print ahead of Christmas. We will also be offering free shipping on all orders 26th December – 5th January.

In our under-£600 range, we have a selection of four works by emerging artists.

Holiday by Riikka Sormunen marks the debut print release from the Finnish artist. Colour is integral to Sormunen’s practice, and we were able to translate the vivid orange background perfectly using Archival Pigment Print. The print also features a layer of screenprinted gloss over the central figure, which both highlights the floral details and creates additional texture over the print. This contrast in gloss and matte mirrors the dichotomies Sormunen creates in her portraits - neutral expressions surrounded by vibrant colours and flowers.

In April, we released a limited edition with Jihye Park, another artist bringing her artistic practice to print for the first time. Park’s release, Bonsai Collection, perfectly demonstrates the care and meaning she puts into her landscapes. Bonsai Collection features a bonsai tree collection framing an intricate landscape beyond, exploring how a window into our internal lives can reveal so much about our internal dreams. Park is greatly inspired by nature in her works, with each plant a different shade of green to honour the natural individuality of nature.

One of our most recent editions is Hemispheres by Delia Hamer, which we released alongside the exhibition where the painting Hemispheres was featured. While the original sold, creating an edition alongside provides an opportunity for collectors to own a piece of her work that would not be available otherwise. Staying true to the quality of the painting, we used 23.5 carat gold leaf in the details, mirroring the shine and texture of the original. Hamer’s first edition with us also sold out, having been released alongside her sell-out solo show.

Fake Abstract (Joseph Karl Stieler) is another print we released to complement an artist’s solo show, this time for Lino Lago. Lago’s work explores the dissonance in the art world between digital art and old masters. The Spanish artist painstakingly replicates famous portraits by iconic artists, only to cover them in an opaque layer, leaving only a digital-brushstroke-shaped window remaining. We’ve released many prints with Lago over the years, but this edition was his first to feature gold leaf since his sell-out edition in 2022.

For those collectors looking to gift something larger, or with that extra detail, we have a selection of prints that are £600 – 800.  The price of these editions reflects a more complex printing process, or a more established artist behind them.

Our final release of 2025 was Beaver Moon by American artist Shawn Huckins. Huckins rose to prominence due to his ability to paint photo-realistic textures over dramatic landscapes and skylines. The contrast between the sharp edge of satin curtains and soft, cloudy sunsets places his works somewhere between realism and surrealism. To ensure the luminosity of his paintings was translated into print, something Huckins hasn’t done for over five years, we printed it on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic Paper, giving the print a luxurious, glowing quality.

British artist David Brian Smith is behind one of our largest prints of 2025, Waiting For Love. Inspired by his childhood growing up on a farm, Smith’s work features classic English countryside reimagined in fantastical colour palettes. This otherworldly colour range is integral to Smith’s practice, and to truly translate that to print, we chose Archival Pigment Printing. This method allowed us to capture all the colour and detail in his painting – including the herringbone pattern left in his works from the canvas he paints on.

The final print curated for this year’s RHODES Editions Festive Buys List is Wetlands by Amy Beager, an artist known for her fluid paintings that blur boundaries both in subject and in style. In Wetlands, Beager depicts a female figure embracing a swan, created from dashes of garish greens and vivid pinks. The duo-tonal nature of the work made it perfect for screenprinting, both to capture the vibrancy of the colours, but also to add an extra layer of texture to the print. This resulted in a 25-Colour Screenprint that perfectly translates Beager’s meaning and medium into a limited edition print.
