Leipzig-based visual artist, Raffael Bader, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Leipzig, Germany, in 2019. His newly released print ‘Bright Day Gathering’ reflects his exploration of using smaller forms to create large compositions, with the use of woodblock printing enhancing the abstracted landscape.
RHODES Editions is excited to represent, for the first time, Hattie Malcomson at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair. Malcomson’s artwork consists of female characters who act to represent figures, archetypes or ideas from myth. Often painted in humorous ways, and in an act of subversion, they attempt to mimic and mock the representation of women in Western historical stories.
Morag Caister explores existential concepts through expressive suggestion, portraits, and narrative. Her monoprint series ‘Cloud Pressed’ may be the artists first venture in the medium, but perfectly encapsulates the atmosphere she wishes to create. Caister is asking us to consider that even in our most private moments, we are often closer to each other than we think.
Camille Cottier’s artistic practice is a development from her 2014 ‘Les Bonshommes’ series, born as she began to question her relationship between herself and the people around her. Interrogating ideas of how representation has situated her position in society largely contributed to her interests in identity and form.
