'In the Garden with You' offers a serene and intimate journey through the natural world, as seen through the eyes of Camilla Perkins. This exhibition emphasises the connections between nature, creativity, and personal relationships, presenting works that evoke a sense of tranquillity and reflection. Within this, Perkins' characters share a likeness to her friends and the women closest to her as she delicately explores the profound connections between mothers and daughters, sisters, lovers and friends against her ethereal backdrops.

‘Rinse My Soul’ is by Delia Hamer delves into themes of personal transformation and emotional resilience. Known for her evocative and introspective work, Hamer uses a mix of media to explore the depths of the human psyche.

Delia Hamer's pieces in 'Rinse My Soul' include bold, large-scale paintings that examine the intersections of identity, spirituality, and self-perception. Her use of vibrant colours and figurative painting creates a powerful visual language that highlights themes of inner reflection and psychological solitude. Her signature use of female figures, depicted with closed eyes and often in solitary contexts, are portrayed with a vulnerability that is both raw and serene. Hamer's work invites viewers to confront their own experiences and emotions, offering a space for reflection and healing.

In the broader context of Women Artists' Art Week, these shows participate in the global dialogue about the significance of women's contributions to the art world. They reflect ongoing efforts to address gender disparities in artistic representation and to foster an environment where women artists can thrive and be recognised for their impactful work. Here at RHODES, we have an incredible roster of amazing woman artists to celebrate all year round, but especially during Women Artists’ Art Week.
