Last week the gallery saw the opening of Nick Smith’s latest P-exhibition: PIONEERS.
Thank you to everyone that attended the private view of the show, although it was in a slightly different format this year due to COVID as we needed to enforce social distancing, it was still great to see so many of you across the 2 days.
This show marks Nick Smith’s sixth solo with Rhodes Contemporary, and Nick’s first show at the gallery for nearly a year and a half!
PIONEERS has proved to be one of Nick’s strongest show concept’s to date; the gallery was full of American iconic works exploring and remastering canonised North American art and culture from Grant Wood, Edward Hopper and Chuck Close to The Simpsons and a Coca Cola.
We were delighted to announce the official release of 3 new ultra vibrant and very limited edition Fluro Haring Dog editions by Nick. These prints are extra limited as they are only purchasable in-person at the PIONEERS exhibition. Available in Pink (now SOLD), Yellow and Green, each are signed and numbered from an edition of 12 and come complete with COA. Bespoke framing with colour-matched spacer is available as an additional cost.
Sam Rhodes, Gallery Director said: “We’re thrilled to be showing Nick’s forthcoming exhibition at the gallery and to present what I believe to be his strongest body of work to date. Nick’s dedication and fervour for his work is rare and for us to continue our longstanding relationship with bigger and better projects is always an honour.”
Already generating attention in the press, Nick was approached by White Rabbit Society to appear on their podcast - you can listen to the full interview by clicking HERE.
Nick Smith’s PIONEERS show will run at the gallery until November 28th 2020.
