Georgian artist Rusudan Khizanishvili is known for her abstract, transformative works that explore the complexities of identity and the power of women. Her paintings invoke a sense of ancient mythology, where strength and transformation are central themes, creating new worlds from within the self. Often these works are centered around the transformation of human beings into a new species. By shifting everyday moments and object into alternate versions, Khizanishvili invites viewers into a new reality through her works.
Khizanishvili has received international acclaim and shown her work in group and solo exhibitions around the world. In 2015, she represented Georgia at the 56th Venice Biennale, alongside five other artists.
