• Max Naylor's works are both familiar and exotic, resembling the natural world as viewed through the lens of personal consciousness.

Max Naylor is a contemporary artist whose practice revolves around constructing an alternate universe, with each painting offering a glimpse into this unique realm. His works are both familiar and exotic, resembling the natural world as viewed through the lens of personal consciousness.

Naylor refers to his creations as "mindscapes," where recurring motifs emerge from the subconscious and spill onto the canvas or paper, enlarging and illuminating his own microcosm. This introspective approach allows him to explore the depths of his imagination while inviting viewers into a richly layered visual experience.

In addition to his painting practice, Naylor serves as a tutor at the Royal Drawing School, where he shares his expertise with aspiring artists. He has also participated in several international residencies, including time spent in Los Angeles and Delhi, which have influenced his artistic development.

His achievements include winning the Discerning Eye Drawing Bursary in 2017 and the Jacksons Painting Prize in 2016. Naylor has exhibited widely throughout the UK, and his work is held in private collections around the world.

Through his art, Max Naylor continues to invite viewers to explore the intersections of reality and imagination, encouraging a deeper understanding of the landscapes of both the mind and the natural world.
