'Almost Beautiful’ Private View And New Gallery Partnership With Clarendon Cocktail Cellar

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone that attended last night’s private view for the opening of Keaton Henson’s exhibition ‘Almost Beautiful’.

It was great to welcome so many fans of the artist, newcomers and friends of the gallery for what was a wonderful celebration of Keaton’s intimate and thought-provoking visual art. The event was a huge success with many pieces being sold over the course of the evening and a fittingly exhilarating atmosphere.

For ‘Almost Beautiful’ Keaton has created an emotive soundtrack to accompany the works, resulting in a unique multisensory experience in the gallery. This new collection of songs isn’t available anywhere else, so it’s yet another reason to visit us if you haven’t yet seen the show. Despite being famed for being reclusive Keaton was present in the gallery for the duration of the evening in our New Compton Street space conversing with fans and posing for press photography.

The preview also marked the start of our partnership with the Clarendon Cocktail Cellar, the new dynamic bar from the acclaimed Artist Residence hotel group. Their brilliant and charismatic Bar Manager Stephen was on hand throughout the evening serving a delicious bespoke ‘Keaton Henson’ cocktail, comprised of bourbon, thyme infused Cointreau and lemon, which was inspired by Keaton’s piece ‘My Favourite Part’.

The Artists Residence is London’s preeminent boutique hotel, offering eclectic luxury with a distinct homely charm. They are dedicated to displaying cutting edge, contemporary art with works on show from several of our affiliated artists including Dave White, Ryan Callanan and Dan Baldwin. Last year they won the 2015 London Hotel Award and also have sister guesthouses in Brighton and Cornwall.

‘Almost Beautiful’ from Keaton Henson runs until 12 March. Follow this link to view work from the show.  If you are interested in the work of Keaton Henson you can contact the gallery on +44 (0) 20 7240 7909 or email us at info@lawrencealkingallery.com
